Lots of TVs claim to offer a "new dimension" in viewing, but Samsung's amazing 3D-ready PN42A450 actually does just that. This model can deliver a startling 3D experience at home. Even without the 3D feature this an outstanding plasma. Its built-in tuners pull in both analog and digital television broadcasts (antenna required). And a "QAM" tuner lets cable TV subscribers tune in unscrambled digital cable channels without the need for a set-top box.
Future-ready 3D technology Samsung introduced 3D capability with some of last year's rear-projection models, but their "A450" plasmas are the world's first 3D-ready flat-panel TVs. We were impressed by Samsung's 3D demo at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. Their approach is one of the first to deliver a truly seamless and believable 3D experience at home. To make it happen, you need an optional "3D kit" — an IR emitter and special viewing glasses. Right now, only a limited amount of 3D content is available, and you have to connect your PC to the TV to watch it.
